Today I took our group together with Yoshito on a hike in the mountains of west Tokyo where I used to live. Though Tokyo prefecture is home to the largest city in the world, it is not without a touch of beauty.
About a 2 hour train ride out from the city center is the Okutama mountain range. It was here in a small city named Ome that I spent my first years in Tokyo. The beautiful view and relaxing hike were a welcome break from the rush of the city and it gave us a chance to debrief.
After the hike we stopped back through Ome for dinner and a time of relaxation in the public baths. I had the opportunity to stop by Grace Christian Fellowship where I used to teach and visit with a few old friends. All in all it was a great day.
